Perceptronics versus Peloton
Every time has its technology, and every technology has its time. Before Peloton, there was Perceptronics. Evil tongues say that Peloton is an exercise bike with an iPad. Peloton’s S-1 says: “We are a technology, media, software, product, experience, fitness, design, retail, apparel, logistics company” 🤷 But tbh the metrics in the S-1 filing are incredible: They have iPhone gross margins and they’re growing like a SaaS company. Plus lock-in effects and the marketing flywheels of a fitness cult. Not bad.
